Star

T Tau forms a triple system with each component surrounded by a dust disk. The two main components, T Tau N and T Tau S, are separated by 418 AUs and trace a highly eccentric orbit (e = 0.7, i = 52°). The T Tau S component is itself binary (a = 12.24 AUs, e = 0.56, i = 20°). Individual masses are 2.12 MSol and 0.53 MSol for T Tau Sa and Sb, 2.19 MSol for T Tau N.
