Liu et al. (2013) : J=16.7, spectral type = L7 ± 1. For an age = 12-4+8 Myr, the temperature = 1160-40+30 K, the radius = 1.53-0.03+0.02 RJup and the mass = 6.5-1.0+1.3 MJup.
For an age = 10-100 Myrs, the temperature is 1210-50+40 K, the radius is 1.40-0.4+0.06 RJup and the mass = 12 ± 3 MJup.
PSO J318.5-22 is the first free-floating object with the colors, magnitudes, spectrum, luminosity, and mass that overlap the young dusty planets around HR 8799 and 2MASS J1207-39.
Liu et al. (2024) update the age for PSO J318.5-22 to 22 ± 6 Myrs. Spectral type L7.5.
