Spectral type M8.5e. L = 0.005 LSol. Member of Taurus-Auriga star-forming region. Age 1-2 Myr.
Joncour et al. (2017) deem KPNO-Tau 1 to be gravitationally bound to protostar XEST20-066 56,296 AUs away. Physical association to LkCa 3 binary 80,734 AUs away is likewise possible suggesting a higher degree multiplicity.
