Star

Alias V582 Mon

KH 15D is a close, eccentric (a = 0.13 AU, e = 0.6, P = 48.37 d) low-mass pre-main sequence binary system undergoing regular occultations on the orbital period by a circumbinary (CB) ring. Star B appears hotter (T = 4140 ± 155 K), larger (r = 1.52 ±0.16 RSol) and more massive (m = 0.74 MSol).
