HIP 79098 is part of a complex multiple system including a close spectroscopic low-mass companion 1.86 ± 0.56 AUs away (m = 0.53±0.26 MSol, either a red or white dwarf) and two M dwarf stars (spT M5V and M3.25V) at 9,555 and 12,900 AUs respectively (Luhman & Mamajek 2012, Janson et al. 2019, Michel & Mugrauer 2021, Gratton et al. 2023).
