Yang et al. (2025) detect a stellar companion whose eccentric orbit (a = 32 AUs, e = 0.76) would disrupt any object within 3 AUs. Hence the candidate third body reported by Knutson et al. (2014) actually matches with aforementioned companion star.

An M dwarf companion star (HAT-P-7 B) lies 1286 AUs away whereas a third companion star (HAT-P-7 C, mC sin i = 0.19 MSol) is detected through radial velocity and characterized by highly eccentric orbit (a = 32 AUs, e = 0.76) (cfr. Ngo et al. 2015, Michel & Mugrauer 2024, Yang et al. 2025).
